Good questions
Is seed really free?
Yes. Notes, tasks, folders, collaborators and chat are unlimited on the free plan, with no time limit and no card. You also get 30 AI agent requests a month. New accounts start with 14 days of Pro, then move to Free on their own; nothing is charged unless you choose to subscribe. Pro is $9.99 a month (or $99 a year) for an agent that sends, books and posts for you across your whole workspace.
Why not just use Apple Notes or Google Keep?
They’re great for jotting things down, and that’s where most ideas stop. In seed the same note can pick up a checkbox, a due date, owners, subtasks and its own chat thread, and the agent can turn it into a plan for you. If nobody else is involved and nothing needs a deadline, a plain notes app is fine. See seed vs Google Keep.
Do I have to learn a system?
No. There are no templates, databases or boards to set up. You type a line and it’s an item. Give it a date, a person or a checkbox only when it needs one. If you’d rather not organize at all, ask @agent to do it.
Is my data private?
Only the people you invite see your folders. We don’t sell data, show ads or use advertising trackers, and seed doesn’t train AI models on your content. AI requests can use Google’s free Gemini tier, which Google may use to improve its products; workspace owners can switch that off in Settings › Agent. The privacy policy lists every service involved.
Can I leave and take my stuff with me?
Yes. Download every file you uploaded as one zip from Settings › Plan at any time. For your notes, tasks and chat, email us and we’ll send a machine-readable export. Deleting your account is one button in Settings.
What can the AI agent actually do?
It can create, edit, assign and organize tasks, break an idea into subtasks, and turn pasted meeting notes into action items. On Pro it also searches the web, creates Google Calendar events and Drive files, sends Gmail, adds rows to Google Sheets and posts to Slack. You decide which of those it may use, and whether it asks you first.
Can seed replace Slack for a small team?
For many small teams, yes. Every folder has a chat channel and every item has its own thread, with @mentions, reactions and file attachments. See seed vs Slack.
Is there a mobile app?
seed works in any modern phone browser. Add it to your home screen from Safari or Chrome and it opens full-screen like an app, with the same folders, chat and reminders as on your computer. A native iOS app with push notifications is coming soon. There’s no Android app yet.
How do I sign up?
Click “Start free” and continue with Google, Apple, or a code we email you. You land in your first folder straight away, with nothing to install and nothing to configure.
